As I set out on the road, the sun shines bright in Kampala, casting a warm glow over the city. There’s a busy energy in the air, but as I start my journey, I can already feel the peace of the open road calling me. It’s time to say goodbye to 2024—a year filled with challenges, growth, and blessings.
At 1:48 PM, I leave Total Acacia with the car tank three-quarters full and my heart full of gratitude. I’ve packed a jerrican of water, just in case the road throws anything unexpected my way. My car’s radiator has been struggling for a while now, and I know it needs replacing, but for today, I press on. The journey is about more than just getting from point A to point B; it’s a moment to reflect on the year that’s passed and look forward to the year ahead.
As I drive from Kampala to Kiruhura and on to Mbarara, each kilometre feels like a step further from the past and closer to the future. The sun is high, the road stretches ahead, and the varying speeds of my drive—sometimes 50 km/h, other times 100 km/h—give me time to think. 2024 has been a year of reflection, growth, and learning. It’s been filled with challenges that tested my resolve, but also moments of pure joy that filled my heart with gratitude.
Two hours and thirty-two minutes into the journey, the car’s temperature gauge climbs to the red zone. The engine is hot, and I know it’s time to pull over. I park along the side of the road, knowing the radiator can’t handle much more. It’s a reminder that sometimes in life, we need to pause, refill, and give ourselves room to breathe. Much like my car, 2024 has had its moments of overheating, but here we are, still moving forward.
By 5:19 PM, I reach Masaka, and I’m greeted by the peacefulness of the road unfolding in front of me as I drive toward the setting sun. It’s one of those rare moments when the world feels still, and I can breathe deeply.

In these quiet moments, my thoughts turn to Awesome, my son. These road trips we take together are so much more than just time spent on the road. They’re opportunities to reflect, to learn, and to grow. I’m proud of you, son. I love you, and I look forward to the many journeys ahead of us.
By 7 PM, I reach Kiruhura. As I pull into the familiar surroundings, I meet up with my cousins, and we catch up. There’s something grounding about family. God has a reason for assigning us to our families—they keep us anchored, reminding us that it’s not the kilometres or the destinations that matter most, but the people we share those moments with. Family truly is a treasure.
As I continue my journey toward Mbarara, I reflect on 2024. It’s been a year of growth, struggle, and blessings. I’ve seen God’s hand at work in my life in ways I didn’t expect. Through it all, I’ve learned to trust more deeply in His guidance.

The soundtrack of this journey is the 5-day Prophetic Prayer and Praise Conference from All Saints Church, Nakasero. The prayers and worship have been a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness as I bid farewell to 2024.
When I arrive in Mbarara, I stop at Moonlight Hotel on High Street for dinner—a quiet moment to reflect on the journey so far. By 10 PM, I make my way to the farm, arriving just in time for the calm of the night. I take my last photo of the day at 11 PM, knowing that tomorrow will bring a fresh opportunity to move forward.

The morning arrives with the sounds of birds and the fresh scent of grass. I take a walk around the farm, watching the herdsmen at work, milking cows, and feeding calves. It’s a peaceful reminder of the simple joys in life, and I’m filled with gratitude. The calves I once herded have grown into strong, healthy heifers, a symbol of how much can change in just one year.
After spending time at the farm, I hit the road again. Mbarara City is busy, and at 12:35 PM, I find myself caught in a Presidential procession. The streets are lined with people, and I take a moment to watch the President drive through, waving to his fellow countrymen.

Once the procession passes, I resume my journey. A quick stop at Shell for engine oil, and then it’s back to spending time with family. Though my original plans had me heading to Kasese for a meeting, a change in the program means I spend the night in Mbarara, getting ready for the drive back to Kampala.
At 5:45 AM, I set off for Kampala, eager to capture the sunrise. The day feels full of promise, but I’m reminded that my car still needs some restoration. It’s a reminder that, like my car, we are all a work in progress. With some help and effort, we can all be renewed.
I pray that God provides the support I need to finish my restoration project in 2025. For now, I’m still listening to the 5-day Prophetic Prayer and Praise Conference as I drive, praying for 2025—for my family, for wisdom, and for the doors that God will open.
By 7:47 AM, I’m in Kinoni, and I stop to top up my water as the temperature rises again. But I press on, trusting that God is in control of every kilometre. By 8:16 AM, I’m having breakfast in Masaka, preparing for the next part of the journey.
As we step into 2025, I’m reminded of something important: to be rooted in Jesus Christ. An active prayer life is essential—God will open doors, but He will also train us through battles to equip us for His purpose.
To my son, Awesome, I’m thankful for the prayers we share, whether in person or over video calls. I pray that God’s will for our lives will come to pass—His will for our family, our work, our ministry, and every aspect of our lives. I surrender it all to Him, for my help comes from Him.
Awesome, don’t give up on yourself. Keep working hard, trust God, and keep praying. The best is yet to come.
