Kikole Hati: God’s goodness through provision

Dear Awesome and children to come,

On Sunday 16 Feb, at the 12pm service at our church, we were reminded of God’s unfailing love through His provision. Led by Rev. Barbra Mugisha, the service focused on the theme “God’s Goodness Through Provision” with readings from Psalm 107:1-7 and Matthew 7:1-7.

We were encouraged to reflect on the ways God provides for us, not just materially but also spiritually and emotionally. From the very beginning, Genesis 3:21 shows how God provided for Adam and Eve, even after they sinned. His provision continued throughout history, notably when He provided manna for the Israelites in Exodus 16:12-15.

One of the most comforting scriptures shared was Psalm 23:1: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” This reassures us that we lack nothing in God’s care. Matthew 6:26 further reminds us that if God provides for the birds of the air, how much more will He provide for us, His children?

Rev. Barbra shared a personal testimony of how God provided for her during her childhood. Losing her mother at the age of five meant she often felt alone on school Visiting Days, as no one came to see her. However, God used her friends to provide for her, showing that He often works through others to meet our needs.

The message emphasized that God’s love is matchless. Romans 8:38 assures us that nothing can separate us from His love. He speaks to each of us personally: He loves you. The redeemed of the Lord have a testimony to share—just as the Israelites did, we all have a story of how God has provided for us.

When Jesus died on the cross, He declared, “It is finished.” Our redemption was completed, and His grace continues to sustain us daily.

A Call to Be a Blessing

We are blessed so that we may be a blessing to others. God’s provision is not meant for us alone; we are called to share His goodness with those in need.

A Special Sunday at Church

This service was even more special because I am part of the commissioned ministers that completed 17 weeks of training at our church. The training took place every Saturday from 11am to 1pm. We walked forward together in thanksgiving for God’s faithfulness.

The moment we were commissioned after our thanks giving as ministers.

As you reflect on this message, always remember that everything we have is from God. He has been faithful in the past, and He will continue to provide for our needs. Let us trust in His goodness and extend His blessings to others.

Your loving father,
Tukundane Yonna
