Dear Awesome and Children to Come,
On Sunday, 27 April 2025, I attended Mary’s Sunday service at All Saints’ Cathedral Kampala, led by Rev Capt Florence Aliganyira Tumwesigye. The theme was “Appreciating God’s Goodness Through Redemption,” drawn from Galatians 3:13–18 and Luke 1:46–55.
Paul preached the gospel based on grace and faith alone. But after he left the Galatians, wrong teachers came in, leading believers astray by teaching that salvation required works like circumcision. In Galatians 3:1–5, Paul expressed righteous anger, asking them, “Who bewitched you?” Likewise, Rev Capt Florence challenged us: Baptism, confirmation, even marriage in church—none of these outward acts alone make us children of God. We must be born again through faith.
Many today sing hymns but do not know Him, as our Archbishop reminds us. People drift from church to church, chasing miracles instead of holding on to Christ. Some are misled by “men of god” who perform questionable rituals, even leading some to abandon their marriages. Yet Scripture—the true Word of God—calls us back to Christ alone.
There is hope in the Lord. Christ redeemed us from the curse of sin (Galatians 3:13). Just as God sent Moses to redeem Israel from Egypt, God sent Jesus to free us from spiritual bondage. Romans 5:8 assures us that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. He paid it all. You don’t have to keep suffering—Jesus already bore the curse, even wearing a crown of thorns on His head.
Galatians 5:1 reminds us that sin enslaves, but Christ sets us free. God is calling us to true salvation—freedom, peace, and joy in Him. We must go out and be the light of the world, testifying with our lives, our marriages, our work, and our hearts.
It’s my prayer that the light of God will shine through us.
